J31 Dance Center is proud to have such an amazing faculty of professional instructors who are passionate about the art of dance.  They look forward to sharing their knowledge, experience, discipline and love of dance with our students each week.

Meghan Ryan

Owner - Company Director/Choreographer - Instructor

Meghan has long dreamt of owning a dance studio where she can share both her passions, dance and teaching. With a master's degree in Elementary Education, Curriculum and Instruction, she understands how to teach developmentally appropriate curriculum in a fun and engaging way. Meghan has an extensive dance background, including coaching High School Cheer and Dance Teams, award winning choreography, professional experience as a Kansas City Comets Dancer, and a Kansas City Chief Cheerleader and numerous awards, titles, and scholarships to her name.

Lauren Hopper

Company Choreographer/Instructor

Lauren started dancing at the age of three. As a competitive dancer, she has won numerous awards and participated in dance intensives at both the regional and national level. She has taken part in ballet productions such as "Giselle" and "Don Quixote" and has taken classes from many leading industry choreographers. She was a member of the Avila University dance team and performed with Heartlines Dance Company. She recently graduated with her Master's in Kinesiology.

Lexi Pardee


Lexi started dancing at the age of 4 at a local dance studio where she was part of the Show Troupe competition team for 13 years. Lexi recently graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a Bachelor’s in Business Management and Marketing. She was a member of the Bearcat Steppers dance team for 4 years, was a captain for one year, and a UDA National Gameday Champion. Currently, she coaches the Truman Starsteppers dance team, is a UDA instructor, and is pursuing her Master’s degree with a Marketing emphasis. Lexi loves to be able to share her love of dance through teaching and watching her students grow!

Payden Van Camp


Payden has been dancing since the age of 2. With extensive training in ballet, tap, jazz, and acrobatics, Payden competed regionally and nationally, winning multiple titles and scholarships. She continued her dance career at the University of Iowa where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Dance. Payden has been a choreographer for the National Ballet Company in Florida, she was a Head Dance Team Coach, and has continued teaching in the classroom with an Early Education/Special Education teaching certification from Missouri Western State University. Payden is beyond excited to continue share her love of dance with everyone and hopes to instill the passion for dance as it was instilled within her.
